HPCON Levels - O, ALPHA, BRAVO, CHARLIE, DELTA

HPCON Levels - O, ALPHA, BRAVO, CHARLIE, DELTA

MUÑIZ AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Puerto Rico --

In an effort to take the necessary precautions and in coordination with Puerto Rico National Guard leadership, Col. Pete Boone, the 156th Wing commander, has increased the Health Protection Condition level to Delta, effective April 6, 2020, on Muñiz Air National Guard Base, Puerto Rico.

According to the U.S. Department of Defense, HPCON-D, or “Delta,” means the area surrounding the base is experiencing severe, widespread community transmission.

“The safety of our personnel is always our number one priority, we will continue to take decisive action to protect our team, their families and our mission,” said Col. Pete Boone, the 156th Wing commander. “We have already taken serious precautions to prevent the transmission of COVID-19, this increase of the HPCON level is the next most strategic step in order to preserve the force today so we can serve our community tomorrow.”

Each member’s leadership team has or will proactively reach out to communicate how this increase in the HPCON level directly impacts their working conditions and to relay if they are categorized as essential or non-essential personnel.

Guidance for HPCON-D is to follow all previous HPCON instructions and implement the following:

  • Expect to remain at home for extended periods of time as movement in the community may be restricted; at-home isolation or quarantine may be directed.
  • Follow all directives and guidance from local, state and federal authorities; they are enacted to protect the health and safety of you and your family.
  • Regardless of the HPCON level, always follow the guidance from your installation and local public health agencies.
